Viktor Gyokeres, the Sporting Lisbon forward and Arsenal transfer target, is reportedly upset over manager Ruben Amorim’s impending switch to Manchester United.
Amorim, regarded as one of Europe’s promising young coaches, has emerged as a top candidate for United’s managerial role following Erik ten Hag’s departure.
Manchester United has reportedly agreed to cover Amorim’s £8.3 million release clause, with confirmation expected soon.
Gyokeres, along with teammate Morten Hjulmand, is said to be particularly disappointed, having rejected lucrative offers to stay with Sporting and follow Amorim’s vision in Lisbon.
The Swedish forward, who has continued his impressive form with 16 goals in 15 matches this season, is valued between €60m (£49.9m) and €70m (£58.2m) for a potential January transfer, as Arsenal continues to monitor his situation closely.
