Arsenal’s injury crisis has forced Mikel Arteta to rely on young talent, and 17-year-old Ethan Nwaneri has risen to the challenge. The academy graduate has enjoyed a stellar breakthrough season, scoring seven goals across all competitions while filling in for key players like Bukayo Saka.

Former Arsenal winger Jermaine Pennant has been full of praise for Nwaneri, highlighting the teenager’s fearless approach and growing influence in the squad. “He’s taken to it amazingly,” Pennant told Metro on behalf of Bojoko.com. “Since stepping in for Saka, he’s been one of Arsenal’s star players.

Pennant believes Nwaneri’s age works to his advantage, allowing him to play with freedom and confidence. “At 17, there’s not a lot of expectation on his shoulders. The senior players take the pressure, so he can express himself. The more he does that, the more confident he’ll get.”

With Arsenal facing a tough Champions League last-16 tie against PSV Eindhoven, Nwaneri could have a key role to play. His rapid development has given Arteta another attacking option at a crucial time in the season. If his current form continues, the young Gunner could cement himself as a future star at the Emirates.
