Arsene Wenger has cast serious doubt over Arsenal’s Premier League title hopes after Liverpool’s commanding 2-0 victory over Manchester City.
The Gunners’ ambitions took a hit earlier in the weekend when West Ham snatched a 1-0 win at the Emirates, with Jarrod Bowen’s first-half header proving decisive.
That defeat left Arsenal trailing leaders Liverpool by eight points, and City’s latest setback at the Etihad widened that gap to 11.
Liverpool, led by the ever-reliable Mohamed Salah, took control early against City. Salah opened the scoring in the 14th minute before setting up Dominik Szoboszlai for the second.

Arne Slot’s team never looked like surrendering their lead, and although Curtis Jones appeared to add a third, it was ruled offside.
With Newcastle visiting Anfield on Wednesday, Liverpool have a chance to strengthen their grip on the title race.
Speaking at halftime of Liverpool’s clash with City, former Arsenal boss Wenger told beIN SPORTS: “If Liverpool win today, you could say it’s 80 per cent. You have to keep hope!”
When asked why he still gave Arsenal a 20% chance, Wenger admitted, “Maybe I’m being generous. But with 11 games to go, 11 points ahead, and one more game played, it would be surprising if Liverpool let this slip.”
Wenger also showered praise on Salah, calling him his favorite player to watch in world football. The Egyptian bagged his 30th goal of the season in the victory over City, further cementing his impact on Liverpool’s title charge.
“You can’t rule him out of winning the Ballon d’Or,” Wenger said. “Mbappe and Vinicius Junior will be in the conversation, but Salah has contributed 38 goal involvements that have earned Liverpool 31 points this season. He’s an exceptional player.”
Wenger highlighted Salah’s evolution, stating, “He’s become more clinical, does less running but maintains quality. That shows not only great talent but also intelligence.”
