Bukayo Saka starred with two goals, while substitute Kai Havertz added a third, as the Gunners comfortably outclassed their French opponents at the Emirates Stadium.
The win leaves Arsenal third in the new Champions League group format, with two games remaining.
The top eight teams will advance directly to the last 16, while the next 16 face a play-off, and the bottom 12 are eliminated.
Despite Arsenal’s success, club legend Martin Keown believes the team needs a “prolific goalscorer” to reach the next level.
Gabriel Jesus, who started the game but missed key chances before being substituted after an hour, has only netted four league goals since the start of last season.
Speaking to TNT Sports, Keown emphasized the need for ruthlessness in front of goal, saying, “We talk about Havertz and Jesus – they need to score more goals. Arsenal could use a player who creates chances out of nothing.
Jesus brings experience and has contributed well, but Arsenal need a clinical finisher to capitalize on opportunities.”
Keown also praised the team’s overall performance, highlighting Saka’s influence. “Bukayo Saka is pivotal.
He’s mature beyond his years and has become a seasoned professional. His impact on and off the pitch is immense,” he said.
Manager Mikel Arteta echoed these sentiments, commending his side’s performance. “I’m very happy with the win, the clean sheet, and the three goals.
We started strong and controlled the game after the second goal. In the Champions League, you must manage tough moments, and we did that well tonight.”
Arteta was full of praise for Saka, calling him a “special talent” and an influential figure within the squad. “What he has achieved at his age is incredible.
He’s humble, talented, and loved by everyone. His leadership is growing, and he continues to make a difference on the pitch,” Arteta added.
With the momentum from this win, Arsenal now turn their attention to their final two group matches, aiming to secure a top-eight finish and a direct path to the knockout stages.
