Bayern Munich have launched a strategic bid to secure the signature of Chelsea’s highly-rated teenager Josh Acheampong, offering him immediate first-team opportunities should he make the move.

The 18-year-old, who is already being courted by top clubs such as Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Liverpool, and Borussia Dortmund, is seen as a future star.
Chelsea have made it clear they do not wish to sell Acheampong, but tension is rising around his contract situation. Reports emerged last month stating that the Blues had informed the player he would not feature for either the first team or the development squad until he agrees to a new contract. Chelsea are pushing hard to keep the promising talent, with tentative progress being made on the negotiations.
However, Bayern Munich’s interest in the England youth international is strong, and they are tempting Acheampong with the offer of immediate first-team minutes.
Acheampong joined Chelsea’s youth setup at the age of eight and signed his first professional deal with the club in January, which runs until 2026. But with his current contract running down, Chelsea are eager to extend it before the player enters the final year of his deal next summer.
Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca has spoken highly of Acheampong, calling him a future top player and expressing his frustration over the situation.
“I had a positive chat with him,” Maresca said last month. “I really like Josh, and I would love for him to stay with us, but at the moment, it’s not possible. He has the potential to be very important for Chelsea, and it’s crucial that we find a solution for his future.”
As the club continues to work on a resolution, the competition for Acheampong’s signature is heating up, with Bayern’s promise of playing time adding extra pressure on Chelsea to act quickly to secure his long-term future at Stamford Bridge.
