David Beckham is reportedly planning a move that could send shockwaves through Manchester City and Pep Guardiola’s squad by signing one of the team’s standout stars, Kevin De Bruyne.

With City struggling this season, after a period of domination, the Etihad club’s form has faltered both in the Premier League and Champions League, raising questions about their future.

City’s poor performance recently, including a string of four consecutive losses in the league, has left them in fourth place—eight points behind Liverpool, with a game in hand.

This decline has also carried over into their European campaign, where they’ve only secured one point from the last three games, placing them 22nd out of 36 teams in their Champions League group. To make matters worse, City’s Carabao Cup hopes were dashed by Tottenham.

Amidst this downturn, Guardiola has appeared visibly strained, sporting scratches on his face during a Champions League match.

The pressure is mounting as City prepares to face Manchester United this weekend, hoping for a much-needed boost.

In another challenge to Guardiola, Beckham, the owner of MLS side Inter Miami, is reportedly looking to bring De Bruyne to the U.S. this January.

De Bruyne, entering the final year of his contract, is set to leave City on a free transfer by the end of the season.

However, several MLS teams, including Beckham’s Inter Miami, are eager to secure the Belgian star early, according to talkSPORT.

Beckham’s ambitions for Inter Miami to win their first MLS title could lead him to make De Bruyne a marquee signing alongside global stars like Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez.

Although De Bruyne has had an inconsistent season, his remarkable career achievements, including two PFA Player of the Year awards, make him one of the Premier League’s most coveted talents.

De Bruyne has been linked to a move to Saudi Arabia, but it seems he favors a potential transfer to America. In addition to Miami, the newly-formed MLS team San Diego FC has also shown interest in the Belgian midfielder.

Earlier this year, De Bruyne discussed his future, stating, “It’s hard to say now. We will be sitting around the table in the coming months. I signed my contract at the right time, and if there’s a good offer, that’s possible.”

He added that money is not a primary motivation for him, but that a substantial offer could secure a future for his family.
