Bayer Leverkusen’s winless streak continued after they were forced to a 1-1 draw by Bochum in Saturday’s Bundesliga fixture. Despite contributions from Victor Boniface and Nathan Tella, the match ended in frustration for the Bundesliga side.
Tella was introduced in the 64th minute, while Boniface made his appearance with just 13 minutes left to play. The match had started well for Leverkusen as Patrik Schick scored in the 18th minute to give them a 1-0 lead.
However, Bochum found an equaliser in the 89th minute when Koji Miyoshi fired home, leaving Leverkusen to settle for a point.
The result marked Leverkusen’s third consecutive game without a win, following two draws and a defeat. Boniface, who has been in good form this season with six goals, was unable to break the deadlock, while Tella made his sixth league appearance but is still waiting to score his first Bundesliga goal.
With the draw, Leverkusen remain in fourth place on 17 points, trailing leaders Bayern Munich by nine points. Bayern secured a 1-0 victory over St Pauli, thanks to Jamal Musiala’s 22nd-minute goal, further widening the gap at the top of the table.
