Dean Huijsen, the young Bournemouth defender, is rapidly gaining recognition and is set to be available for just £50m this summer due to an activation clause.
The 19-year-old, who initially honed his skills at Malaga before making a move to Juventus, found his feet in senior football during a loan spell at Roma in early 2024.
Bournemouth secured his permanent signing from Juventus last summer for £12.8m, with potential add-ons bringing the total to £15.3m.
Since then, the Spanish Under-21 international, born in the Netherlands, has become a standout performer for the Cherries in what has been an outstanding season for manager Andoni Iraola’s side.

Huijsen, who stands at 6’5″, has played 19 Premier League matches, contributing to Bournemouth’s strong push in fifth place.
Big clubs, including Manchester United, Arsenal, and Chelsea, are reportedly monitoring his progress, knowing that a release clause of £50m will be triggered this summer.
Although Bournemouth would be reluctant to lose a key player who has been pivotal to their solid season, a £50m clause would represent a huge profit, considering they acquired him for a fraction of that cost.
Alongside Huijsen, other standout players like Milos Kerkez, Justin Kluivert, and Antoine Semenyo could attract offers, with Iraola also likely to catch the attention of bigger clubs.
Iraola praised Huijsen’s development in December, noting that despite his age, the defender has played with impressive confidence. He added that with injuries to Marcos Senesi, Huijsen’s role would only increase.
Huijsen himself seems content at Bournemouth as the club aims for a surprising European spot. He recently shared his optimism with The Guardian, saying, “We have the quality and potential to qualify for Europe.
It would be a huge achievement for everyone involved.” His belief in the team’s success and their consistent performances is evident as Bournemouth looks to prove their place in Europe.
