Lookman, who has been left out of the 2024 CAF Men’s Player of the Year nominations, has impressed Boyomo with his recent performances.
Lookman Faces Strong Contenders for the Award
Though Lookman has been performing exceptionally well, he will face tough competition for the award from players like Simon Adingra, Serhou Guirassy, Achraf Hakimi, and Ronwen Williams.
Boyomo, however, is confident that Lookman’s achievements will help him claim the prestigious trophy.
Lookman’s Standout Season
Lookman has had a remarkable year, most notably in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, where he scored three goals and contributed one assist. Additionally, he made history with a memorable hat-trick for Atalanta in the UEFA Europa League final.
Boyomo is certain that these feats give Lookman the best chance to claim the African Ballon d’Or, stating: “He won the Europa League, and he has the best chance of winning the trophy this year.”
