Bryan Mbeumo has emerged as a top target for Premier League heavyweights Arsenal and Liverpool, but Brentford manager Thomas Frank has firmly ruled out any potential January move for the in-form forward.

The 25-year-old Cameroonian international has been pivotal for Brentford this season, especially after the summer departure of Ivan Toney.

With 10 goals and 2 assists in 18 league games, Mbeumo ranks among the top scorers in the competition. His contract, which runs until 2026 with an additional one-year extension option, has not deterred suitors like Arsenal, Liverpool, and Newcastle, who are reportedly prepared to meet his £50 million price tag.

However, Frank remains steadfast in his stance. “To those clubs interested in January, I say good luck,” Frank quipped ahead of Brentford’s clash with Arsenal.

“We love Bryan, and he loves playing here. He’s had an incredible season, so nothing will happen in January.”

Arsenal’s interest may be fueled by a pressing need following Bukayo Saka’s long-term absence due to a hamstring injury that required surgery.

Saka, who has five goals and 10 assists this season, leaves a significant void in the Gunners’ attack. Arsenal is also exploring other options, including Paris Saint-Germain’s Randal Kolo Muani, who has fallen out of favor under Luis Enrique.

Liverpool, on the other hand, may see Mbeumo as a contingency plan if contract talks with Mohamed Salah fail.

Salah, who broke another record in Sunday’s match against West Ham, admitted there’s still a considerable gap in negotiations over his extension at Anfield.

As the January transfer window approaches, Brentford faces a battle to fend off interest in Mbeumo, but Frank’s resolve suggests the Bees are unwilling to let their star player go mid-season.

  1. The winger has a contract with the London club until the summer of 2026 with an option for another year.

  2. Relegated or not they should sign this guy. There’s no way Brentford gets relegated under Frank. There are at least 3 worse clubs than them. Get the guy, we won’t regret it
