CAF names officials for Nigeria vs Ghana CHAN 2025 qualifiers

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed officials from Togo and Morocco for the upcoming African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2025 qualifying matches between Ghana and Nigeria.

The first leg is set to take place in Accra, with the return leg in Uyo later in December

Togolese officials for the first leg

For the initial encounter in Accra on December 22, 2024, Togolese referee Aklesso Gnama will be in charge of the match.

His assistants will include Jonathan Ahonto Koffi, Wassiou Tchamolla Ourotou, and Kossi Fabrice Senyo as assistant 1, assistant 2, and fourth official, respectively.

The commissioner for the match will be Ivan Gator Brown from Liberia, while Beninoise official Hugues Alain Adjovi will serve as the referee assessor.

Moroccan officials for the return leg

The second leg, which will be held at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo on December 28, 2024, will be overseen by Moroccan officials.

Referee Hamza El Fariq will lead the team, with Abdessamad Abertoune and Zakaria Bouchtaoui as assistant 1 and assistant 2, respectively, and Hicham Temsamani as the fourth official.

Prince Kai Saquee from Sierra Leone will serve as the commissioner, while Miboti Moise from the Democratic Republic of Congo will be the referee assessor.

Match schedule and qualification details

The first leg in Accra is scheduled to kick off at 4pm Ghana time (5pm Nigeria time), while the return leg in Uyo will start at 5pm local time.

The winner on aggregate will secure a spot in the 8th African Nations Championship, set to take place in Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania from February 1 to 28, 2025.

This tournament will serve as a test event ahead of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, which will be hosted by the same countries.
