The England international, whose contract with Liverpool is set to expire in six months, has been strongly linked with a move to the Spanish giants.

Alexander-Arnold’s contract situation allows him to engage in negotiations with foreign clubs about a potential free transfer in the summer.

Real Madrid has long been touted as a prime destination for the 26-year-old defender, known for his creative playmaking and attacking prowess.

Ancelotti Keeps His Focus on the Team

Speaking at a press conference ahead of Real Madrid’s La Liga clash with Valencia, Ancelotti refrained from revealing too much about the club’s transfer strategy.

“It is difficult for me to talk about that in this context,” Ancelotti said. “But we are going to have to wait and see. We are focused on all these games in January and the game tomorrow against Valencia, and I’ve got nothing more to say.”

Pressed further on the topic, the Real Madrid boss reiterated his stance, emphasizing the importance of respecting his current squad. “I’m not going to speak about it because right now, here, is not the place to talk about it. We will see what will happen, but I have a great squad. We have injuries and problems with that, but we are also able to overcome them,” he added.

Summer Move Likely for Alexander-Arnold

While a January deal appears improbable, reports in Spain suggest that Real Madrid and Alexander-Arnold are keen on making the move happen in the summer.

The Spanish club is reportedly preparing an offer to secure his services once he becomes a free agent.

Real Madrid is also targeting defensive reinforcements in other areas, with Bayern Munich’s Alphonso Davies and Arsenal’s William Saliba reportedly on their radar.

The club’s ambitions for a defensive overhaul reflect their commitment to maintaining dominance both domestically and in Europe.

As transfer rumors continue to swirl, one thing is clear: the summer window could be pivotal for Real Madrid as they aim to bolster their squad with world-class talent.
