Ex-West Ham forward John Hartson suggests Celtic might revive their pursuit of Kelechi Iheanacho in the summer transfer window.
The Nigerian striker, previously linked with the Scottish champions, ultimately secured a loan move to Middlesbrough last month.
Iheanacho shares a history with Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers from their time together at Leicester City. Hartson believes that connection could lead to another attempt to bring the 27-year-old to Scotland at the end of the season.
Speaking to Go Radio via 67 Hail Hail, Hartson highlighted the advantages of signing a familiar player.
“If you’ve worked with someone before, you understand their qualities, character, and areas for improvement,” he said.
“Iheanacho was impressive at Leicester—strong, skillful, and capable of scoring goals.”
While Hartson acknowledged that Iheanacho is just one of several potential targets for Rodgers, he emphasized that the existing relationship between player and manager could make a move more likely.
