Victor Osimhen’s long-held dream of playing for Chelsea may still become a reality, according to former Blues midfielder John Mikel Obi.
Osimhen was close to securing a move to Stamford Bridge last summer, but the deal ultimately fell through. Instead, the Nigerian forward joined Turkish champions Galatasaray on loan for the remainder of the season.
However, Mikel remains optimistic that the prolific striker will eventually land at Chelsea. Speaking on the Obione Podcast, he shared insights into Osimhen’s deep-rooted admiration for the club.

“Chelsea has always been his dream team. He’s publicly expressed his love for the club since childhood,” Mikel revealed.
He also emphasized Osimhen’s admiration for Chelsea legend Didier Drogba, stating, “Drogba was his idol. He loved his playing style and has always wanted to follow in his footsteps.”
Although last summer’s transfer didn’t materialize, Mikel believes the possibility isn’t entirely off the table. “We couldn’t get it done then, but you never know. I don’t think the door is completely closed,” he added.
Could Chelsea finally make Osimhen’s dream come true in the near future? Time will tell.
