Chelsea are reportedly preparing to enter the race for Paris Saint-Germain striker Randal Kolo Muani, a player also on the radar of Arsenal and Manchester United, as the January transfer window approaches.

Kolo Muani joined PSG last summer from Eintracht Frankfurt in a deal worth €75m (£64.2m) with an additional €15m (£12.2m) in add-ons. However, the 26-year-old French forward has struggled to secure a consistent role under manager Luis Enrique.

So far this season, Kolo Muani has started just two matches across all competitions and has been omitted from PSG’s last three matchday squads.

Luis Enrique addressed the situation earlier this month but remained tight-lipped, stating: “I could speak about it, but I won’t because my decisions say it all, even if, as I have said, all of my decisions can be changed.”

With the January transfer window set to open, Kolo Muani is expected to leave PSG on loan in search of regular first-team football.

According to French outlet Foot Mercato, Chelsea are set to approach PSG in the coming days to negotiate a deal for the versatile forward.

Chelsea’s interest in Kolo Muani stems from his ability to play across the front line, a quality that could strengthen their squad as they navigate injuries to key players.

Mykhailo Mudryk’s indefinite suspension following a failed drugs test has added urgency to Chelsea’s need for attacking reinforcements.

Meanwhile, the potential arrival of Kolo Muani could see Chelsea offload Christopher Nkunku, who has grown frustrated with his limited Premier League minutes. Reports suggest Barcelona is monitoring Nkunku’s situation closely.

However, Chelsea face stiff competition for Kolo Muani’s signature. Arsenal have reportedly been offered the chance to sign him on loan as they deal with Bukayo Saka’s long-term injury. Manchester United, now under new boss Ruben Amorim, are also interested in both Kolo Muani and his PSG teammate Nuno Mendes.

The competition doesn’t end there. Top European clubs, including AS Monaco, RB Leipzig, Juventus, Galatasaray, and AC Milan, are all said to be eyeing the French international.

With so many suitors, Kolo Muani’s January destination remains uncertain, but the striker is undoubtedly one of the hottest names in the upcoming transfer market.
