Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has officially confirmed Filip Jorgensen as the club’s new No.1 goalkeeper in the Premier League, replacing Robert Sanchez after a series of costly mistakes.

Despite backing Sanchez for months and urging him to remain bold in possession, Maresca has now made a decisive change.
The turning point appeared to come in Chelsea’s 3-1 loss to Manchester City, where Sanchez’s blunder gifted Erling Haaland a goal.
Jorgensen was given a chance against West Ham and impressed, while Sanchez returned for Chelsea’s FA Cup defeat to Brighton.
However, as Chelsea prepare to face Brighton in the league, Maresca made it clear that Jorgensen will continue between the posts.

“Our goalkeeper at the moment is Filip Jorgensen,” Maresca confirmed in his press conference. “The idea is not to change goalkeepers game by game.”
The move signals a shift in Chelsea’s goalkeeping hierarchy as Maresca looks for stability in a crucial stage of the season.
