The 20-year-old midfielder, who was forced off late in Chelsea’s recent 1-1 draw with Arsenal due to a “little blow,” has confirmed that the injury is not serious.

Speaking on international duty with Belgium, Lavia mentioned, “At the moment, we are testing to see if it is okay, but it should be fine, I think.”

Lavia has quickly established himself as a key player under Maresca, especially after overcoming a thigh injury that hindered him last season.

His ability to connect play with forward players, particularly his precision in linking with teammate Cole Palmer, has earned him praise from pundits, including former Tottenham star Tim Sherwood, who described him as a “top-class midfield player.”

Chelsea’s injury concerns have heightened as several players, including Malo Gusto, Cole Palmer, and Levi Colwill, recently withdrew from international duties.

Wesley Fofana also missed out on a France call-up due to injury, adding to Maresca’s challenges. With Chelsea set to face Leicester City on November 23, Lavia’s positive update is a welcome boost amid these injury setbacks.
