The 17-year-old Brazilian prodigy, who will move to Stamford Bridge next summer after his 18th birthday, has revealed his excitement about joining the Premier League giants and his growing connections with Chelsea’s current stars.
The Palmeiras forward has been lighting up Brazilian football since his first-team debut, netting 15 goals in 45 appearances and earning four caps for the Brazil national team. Recognized as one of the most promising talents in the world, Chelsea secured Estevao’s services for a reported £28 million, marking another coup in their focus on South American talent.
Speaking with ESPN, Estevao shared his conversations with Chelsea players, including club captain Reece James, Cole Palmer, and former Blue Thiago Silva. “I really like Cole Palmer’s celebration,” he said, referencing the gesture. “We’ve exchanged ideas, and I’m happy to have this contact with him.”
James also reached out to offer support, saying, “If you need anything, just let me know.” Meanwhile, Silva encouraged Estevao after a recent match, telling him that Chelsea is “waiting with open arms.”
The teenager is working hard to prepare for his transition, learning English through films and music. While he hasn’t visited Stamford Bridge yet, Estevao expressed excitement about familiarizing himself with the club’s facilities.
Though he doesn’t have a favorite squad number, Estevao hinted that wearing the No. 41 jersey would be special. “I’ve always been a No.10, but 41 would be cool,” he said, adding that he enjoys playing on the wings for one-on-one opportunities but feels most comfortable in central positions.
The Brazilian starlet has drawn comparisons to football icons Neymar and Lamine Yamal. Legendary striker Ronaldo also chimed in, predicting a bright future for Estevao: “He’s young, talented, and reminds me of Lamine Yamal. He’ll be a very big star soon.”
As Chelsea fans eagerly await his arrival, Estevao’s journey promises to add yet another thrilling chapter to the club’s future.
