The 16-year-old striker, widely recognized as a top prospect in his age group, opened his account just 12 seconds into the game, seizing on a defensive error to calmly slot the ball home.
Four minutes later, he doubled the lead, capitalizing on another poor clearance by driving the ball into the bottom corner from the edge of the box. Before the 15-minute mark, he completed his hat-trick, marking an extraordinary start to his United career.
Previously at Arsenal, Obi-Martin built a strong reputation, once netting 10 goals in a single U16 match against Liverpool and finishing last season with 32 goals in 24 appearances.
After leaving Arsenal at the end of his contract, he joined United this summer, with the transfer finalized in September. He made his initial appearance for the Red Devils last week, coming off the bench in a 4-3 win over Sunderland.
Now, with his outstanding debut performance as a starter, Obi-Martin is proving why he’s one of the brightest young strikers to watch in United’s academy.
