AC Milan showcased their resilience and determination with a hard-fought 2-1 comeback win against Juventus in the Italian Super Cup semi-final on Friday.

Despite missing key players, including Samuel Chukwueze due to injury, Milan overcame an early setback to book their place in the final, where they will face fierce rivals Inter Milan.

Juventus opened the scoring through Kenan Yildiz, who capitalized on a defensive lapse. Yildiz, initially not expected to start, took full advantage of his opportunity by smashing a powerful finish into the top corner.

Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan had his hands full, making crucial saves to deny Juventus from extending their lead, including a dangerous angled drive from Yildiz and a close-range effort from Dusan Vlahovic.

Milan struggled to find an equalizer in the first half, with Theo Hernandez missing a golden chance, skying the ball over the bar from close range.

However, the tide turned after halftime. Christian Pulisic drew a penalty when Manuel Locatelli fouled him in the box.

Pulisic converted the spot kick, rejuvenating Milan’s confidence. Moments later, Yunus Musah’s cross inadvertently deflected off Juventus defender Federico Gatti and into the net, completing Milan’s comeback.

Juventus had a few late chances to salvage the game, with Federico Gatti’s volley narrowly missing the target in stoppage time. Milan’s defense held firm, with Maignan playing a pivotal role in preserving their lead.

With this victory, AC Milan advances to the Supercoppa Italiana final, where they will face city rivals Inter Milan on Monday. Juventus, on the other hand, will return home to regroup after only their second competitive defeat of the season.
