The Nigerian winger, making his 17th league appearance this season, was substituted in the 62nd minute, with Tammy Abraham coming on to replace him.
AC Milan, playing at the San Siro, opened the scoring early through a 16th-minute goal, only for Paulo Dybala to equalize for Roma seven minutes later.
Despite dominating possession, Milan once again dropped points at home, following a goalless draw against Genoa in their previous home fixture.
The Rossoneri remain unbeaten in their last four matches, with two wins and two draws. However, their inconsistent form has left them in 8th place on the Serie A table, amassing 27 points from 17 games.
