Despite their dominance in possession, the hosts couldn’t break through a disciplined American defense.
The second half saw rising tensions and several bookings. Weston McKennie picked up a yellow card in the 50th minute, followed by Damion Lowe in the 62nd. Substitutions added fresh energy, but neither side could alter the scoreline.
Late fouls by Mason Holgate, earning him a second yellow in the 86th minute, and Isaac Hayden in stoppage time highlighted Jamaica’s frustration.
Juan Calderon of Costa Rica officiated the match, which was held at the iconic Independence Park. The USA’s well-organized defense ensured their slim lead held until the final whistle.
