David Moyes has urged his Everton squad to be wary of Manchester United’s individual quality, despite their surprisingly poor position in the Premier League table.
The Toffees enter Saturday’s home clash against Ruben Amorim’s United in strong form, unbeaten in their last five league games.
In contrast, the Red Devils have suffered back-to-back defeats against Tottenham and Crystal Palace, slipping to 15th place one spot below Everton in 14th.
Speaking ahead of the match, Moyes acknowledged United’s struggles but emphasized their talent: “They’ve got so many gifted players. It’s rare to see them in this position, but we have to focus on building our own momentum.”

Now in his second spell at Everton, Moyes originally managed the club from 2002 to 2013 before taking over at United as Sir Alex Ferguson’s successor.
His tenure at Old Trafford was short-lived, leading to stints at Real Sociedad, Sunderland, and West Ham, where he guided the Hammers to UEFA Conference League glory in 2023.
Reflecting on his managerial journey, Moyes said: “Every manager faces highs and lows. I had to rebuild after United, and now my goal is to keep Everton stable and push toward European football.”
With both teams desperate for points, the showdown at Goodison Park promises to be a crucial battle in their respective seasons.
