Dele-Bashiru sustained an injury in training ahead of the Super Eagles’ match against Benin Republic. He failed a late fitness test, which ruled him out of the 1-1 draw with the Cheetahs at the Felix Houphet Boigny Stadium in Abidjan on Thursday.
The midfielder’s condition remains uncertain, and he may miss the upcoming match against Rwanda. In addition, Nigeria’s squad has been further depleted by injuries and personal circumstances.
Ola Aina, the Nottingham Forest defender, has already been ruled out due to an injury, and goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has left the camp following the death of his father. The Super Eagles will look to adjust their lineup as they face Rwanda in this crucial qualifier.
