Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye has expressed confidence in Nigeria’s ability to reach the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) final in Morocco.

The Udinese shot-stopper, who is poised to start against Rwanda on Monday, shared his thoughts during an interview with Victor Modo.
Okoye highlighted the immense talent within the Nigerian squad under interim head coach Augustine Eguavoen. He firmly believes that this lineup has the capability to secure the coveted trophy.
Speaking with enthusiasm, Okoye said, “It’s always a big achievement for us and the entire nation. We are happy to be part of this journey.”
Reflecting on his journey back into the starting lineup, Okoye expressed gratitude for the opportunity to represent Nigeria once again.
“This is the moment I’ve been waiting for. After attending camps for a long time, I finally have the chance to play again. I’m thankful and eager to wear the jersey and perform in front of Nigerian fans at home,” he added.
The goalkeeper expressed his optimism about Nigeria’s potential to replicate past successes, emphasizing the team’s determination to achieve glory.
“We can reach the final again, without a doubt. This is what we strive for, and our ultimate goal is to win the AFCON. I’m confident we have what it takes to achieve this,” Okoye concluded.
