Despite concerns about a potentially challenging season following the appointment of new manager Enzo Maresca and a summer of heavy spending, Chelsea has made a strong start. Their only defeat came against defending champions Manchester City on the opening day, but since then, they have secured 14 points from seven games, placing them fourth in the league.

Chelsea’s attack has been particularly impressive, with only Manchester City scoring more goals this season. While many expect Chelsea to aim for a top-four finish, Heskey believes they have the potential to challenge for the title.

“If you’re talking about top four contenders, you’ve got to say Chelsea and Aston Villa,” Heskey told 10bet. “I’m tempted to say that Chelsea could even challenge for the Premier League title and make it a four-way race.”

Heskey praised Maresca’s coaching style, noting that his previous success at Leicester City has set the foundation for success at Chelsea. “He’s relentless in implementing his style of play and expects total commitment from his players,” he said.

As the season progresses, the competition among the top teams is heating up, with Liverpool currently leading the table, followed closely by Manchester City and Arsenal. This weekend, Liverpool will host Chelsea, while Manchester City will visit bottom-placed Wolves, and Arsenal will travel to Bournemouth, setting the stage for an intense round of fixtures.
