Atalanta have openly praised their forward Ademola Lookman, who achieved 14th place in the 2024 Ballon d’Or rankings.
The Nigerian international and Super Eagles star was the only African player to make the prestigious 30-man shortlist, securing his place among the world’s best at the ceremony held in Paris, France.
Atalanta shared their pride, stating, “14th place for Mola: proud of you, Ade,” in recognition of his stellar year.
Lookman’s nomination reflected his impactful performances both for his club and Nigeria. He notably delivered a memorable hat-trick in the Europa League final, leading Atalanta to a 3-0 triumph over Bayer Leverkusen.
His performances extended to international duty, where he played a crucial role in helping the Super Eagles reach the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations final in Côte d’Ivoire.
Adding to his accolades, Lookman remains a strong contender for the CAF Player of the Year award, further affirming his remarkable season for both club and country.
