The game saw both sides reduced to ten men. Milan’s Fikayo Tomori received a second yellow card in the 55th minute, putting his team at a numerical disadvantage. However, Empoli’s Luca Marianuchi was shown a straight red just ten minutes later, leveling the playing field.

With the match still goalless after an eventful hour, Rafael Leão broke the deadlock in the 68th minute. Santiago Giménez then sealed the win eight minutes later, ensuring Milan secured all three points.

The victory lifted Milan to seventh place in Serie A, bringing their tally to 38 points. However, Chukwueze’s lack of game time raises questions about his role in Conceição’s plans moving forward.
