Fenerbahce’s manager Jose Mourinho has publicly criticized Bright Osayi-Samuel following their 2-0 victory over Bodrum FK, which marked the end of a three-game winless streak.

Osayi-Samuel, who played the full match, was called out for opting to shoot rather than pass to a better-positioned teammate during a critical first-half opportunity.

Mourinho expressed disappointment, stating, “I’m pleased with the three points, but it’s frustrating that we missed several chances. Irfan Can Kahveci’s volley was impressive, but Osayi-Samuel was selfish in his decision-making.”

Despite the criticism, Osayi-Samuel has been a key player for Fenerbahce this season, known for his pace and versatility. However, Mourinho’s comments suggest the Nigerian defender must refine his decision-making to maintain his place in the squad.

Fenerbahce will look to build on this victory in their upcoming fixtures as they continue their push for the Super Lig title.

“We could have put the game to bed in the first half, yet we failed to do so,” he told Kontraspor.
