The Italian was chosen in the summer after Mauricio Pochettino stepped down, having led Leicester City to promotion from the Championship.
A Strong Start at Chelsea
Despite the challenges of managing a club that has seen significant transfer activity, Maresca’s start at Chelsea has been promising. The Blues are currently third in the Premier League, level on points with second-placed Arsenal.
He believes experience is gained over time and is not something that can be bought, pointing out that even top managers like Eddie Howe, Pep Guardiola, and Mikel Arteta lacked experience at the beginning of their careers.
Handling Doubts and Criticism
Maresca acknowledges that Chelsea fans will naturally have doubts, especially after a bad result, but he remains unfazed.
He insists that while he is always concerned about doing the right things, he has complete confidence in his methods. The manager is aware of the media and fan reactions, but remains confident in his ability to lead the team forward.
Recent Form and Upcoming Match
Chelsea have won their last three games in all competitions, including a 3-0 victory over Aston Villa. Maresca’s side will look to maintain their momentum as they face Southampton on Wednesday, where they are expected to extend their strong form.
