Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca shared an optimistic update on Cole Palmer’s fitness ahead of Sunday’s clash against Arsenal.

Palmer, who suffered a knock during Chelsea’s recent draw with Manchester United following a challenge from Lisandro Martinez, remains a doubt but is showing signs of improvement.
Despite missing Wednesday’s training, Maresca is hopeful that Palmer might join the squad for a final session on Saturday before a decision is made regarding his availability.
Palmer observed from the sidelines as Chelsea clinched an 8-0 win over FC Noah on Thursday. Excluded from Chelsea’s Conference League roster, Palmer wouldn’t have featured in that match, but his recovery remains a priority as he has been instrumental in Chelsea’s attack this season, with seven goals and five assists in 10 Premier League appearances.
Maresca emphasized the importance of squad rotation to manage fitness levels effectively. “Right now, we’re fortunate to have most players fit, and rotating helps maintain that,” he noted, adding that Chelsea’s depth allows him to shield players from overexertion, though the situation could change as the season progresses.
