Erik ten Hag’s departure from Manchester United came after frustrations with several senior players, including Marcus Rashford, Casemiro, and Antony.

The decision followed United’s 2-1 loss to West Ham, which left the club 14th in the Premier League.

Ten Hag, dismissed on Monday, had achieved FA Cup and Carabao Cup victories during his tenure but struggled with consistency this season despite significant summer investments.

While not entirely losing the dressing room, Ten Hag reportedly felt let down by key players. Casemiro, a star signing from Real Madrid, impressed in his first season but faced recent struggles.

Rashford also encountered disciplinary issues, such as missing training and attending events shortly after losses, while Antony has yet to make an impact since his £84 million transfer from Ajax.

Ruud van Nistelrooy is set to manage United’s Carabao Cup game against Leicester City as the club aims to secure Sporting Lisbon’s Ruben Amorim as a permanent replacement.
