Erik ten Hag has publicly addressed his departure from Manchester United for the first time, expressing heartfelt gratitude to fans for their “unshakeable” support throughout his time at Old Trafford.

Following a challenging season that left United in 14th place in the Premier League, Ten Hag was dismissed on Monday after a 2-1 defeat against West Ham.
The Dutch manager, who brought the FA Cup and Carabao Cup to United, acknowledged that while he hoped to add more silverware, his journey with the club has come to an end.
Ten Hag’s successor, Ruben Amorim, currently managing Sporting, will officially take over following the next international break, with former United striker Ruud van Nistelrooy serving as interim manager in the meantime.
In a statement released by his agency, SEG Football, Ten Hag thanked the fans for their passion, stating, “The atmosphere at Old Trafford was always electrifying, thanks to you… hearing the United chants in England, Europe, and during summer tours inspired me and created an incredible sense of unity.”
Reflecting on his experience, Ten Hag emphasized the support he received from the club’s staff and the fans he encountered worldwide, adding, “Winning two trophies with United is something I will always cherish.”
“My dream was to bring even more trophies to the cabinet, but unfortunately, that journey has ended. I wish nothing but success and glory for Manchester United in the years ahead.”
