Manchester United’s interest in Jarrad Branthwaite remains strong, with the Everton defender emerging as a central figure in the plans of soon-to-be-appointed manager Ruben Amorim.

United had initially pursued Branthwaite last summer, submitting two offers up to £50 million, which were both rejected by Everton.

Under Amorim’s leadership, United’s desire for Branthwaite persists, even with a shift to the Portuguese manager’s preferred 3-4-3 formation.

Although injury has limited Branthwaite’s appearances this season, the 22-year-old defender is reportedly interested in moving to a bigger club, positioning United as a potential destination.

However, United may face competition from Liverpool, who are also monitoring Branthwaite’s progress. Contracted with Everton until 2027, a higher offer may be necessary for United to secure him.

Amorim, who recently led Sporting CP to a Champions League victory over Manchester City, is set to overhaul United’s tactical style.

However, he cautioned fans not to expect a direct transfer of Sporting’s tactics to Old Trafford, noting that United will require a tailored approach to succeed in the Premier League.
