The 22-year-old forward had a remarkable first season at Stamford Bridge, scoring 25 goals and earning a nomination for the Premier League Player of the Season. His impressive performances also led to his selection for Gareth Southgate’s England squad for Euro 2024, where he shone brightly, notably scoring in the final against Spain.

Since joining Chelsea from Manchester City, where he honed his skills, Palmer has continued to thrive this season, netting six goals in seven league games. This includes a record-breaking four goals in a single half against Brighton.

Hasselbaink, who worked closely with Palmer during several England camps, expressed his admiration for the player. He noted that Palmer plays instinctively, saying, “Cole Palmer is among the best players in the world when he’s in the zone, whatever he tries to do works.”

The former Chelsea striker emphasized that Palmer’s style of play reminds him of the street footballers of the past, suggesting that his natural talent and love for the game have reinvigorated that essence in modern football.
