The former Liverpool midfielder, now with Al-Ittihad, expressed uncertainty about the rumors but emphasized that Liverpool is keen to secure new contracts for its star players.
With Salah, Van Dijk, and Trent Alexander-Arnold all facing contract expiration at the end of the season, Liverpool is in a precarious situation. T
he trio has been pivotal to the club’s recent successes, and their simultaneous exit would pose significant challenges both on the pitch and financially.
Fabinho stated, “I haven’t talked to them lately and, to be honest, I didn’t see any news about them coming to the Saudi League or leaving Liverpool. I know that some players like Mo, Virgil, and Trent are at the end of their contract, and I think Liverpool are desperate to get them a new contract, but it’s not my problem anymore!”
Van Dijk confirmed that negotiations are ongoing regarding his contract, noting, “I can say obviously discussions are ongoing, but I don’t know; we will see what happens in the future.
My focus is fully on Liverpool, wanting to win games ahead of me and nothing else.” He expressed confidence in his physical and mental state, remaining committed to achieving success with Liverpool this season.
Trent Alexander-Arnold, meanwhile, has also been linked with a move to Real Madrid. He echoed the sentiment of prioritizing trophies, stating, “I want to be a Liverpool player this season [as a minimum]. The most important thing is always trophies.”
He acknowledged the team’s potential and the need for consistency as they aim for silverware this season.
