Mason Greenwood has openly expressed his desire for a reunion with former Manchester United teammate Paul Pogba at Marseille.

Pogba, a World Cup winner, has been exploring his options since parting ways with Juventus in November after his contract was terminated.

The 31-year-old midfielder has garnered interest from several European clubs and lucrative offers from Saudi Arabia.

Pogba, who rejoined Juventus in 2022 after six years at Manchester United, recently commented on his next steps:

“There are proposals, some interesting and some less so. Russia and others were options, but they’re not the goal. A Champions League club? Of course, that would be ideal. It doesn’t depend solely on me—it’s about many other factors.”

As Pogba evaluates his options, Greenwood, currently thriving at Marseille, has voiced his enthusiasm for the possibility of Pogba joining the Ligue 1 side.

Speaking in a rare interview with Telefoot, Greenwood said, “He’s a great man and professional who has taken me under his wing. He’s a top player, and any team in Europe would love to have him. If he came here, it would be great.”

Greenwood, now 23, signed a five-year deal with Marseille last summer after Manchester United released him following a six-month investigation into his conduct.

The former England international had been arrested in January 2022 over allegations tied to online material. However, charges, including attempted rape and assault, were dropped in early 2023.

Before joining Marseille, Greenwood spent the 2023-24 season on loan at Getafe, where he showcased his talent. This season, he has been in fine form, netting 13 goals in 20 appearances.

Discussing his long-term plans at Marseille, Greenwood added, “Staying here for many years? Absolutely. It’s something I’d like to do. I want to win trophies here and play in the Champions League. That’s my ambition.”
