Muslera’s remarks come after Mourinho, who joined Fenerbahce in June, openly criticized refereeing in the Turkish Super League, implying a system of bias against his team.

Following a recent victory over Trabzonspor, Mourinho called out the performance of VAR official Atilla Karaoglan, claiming his involvement was “the deciding factor” in the match and expressing frustration with a system he believes is stacked against Fenerbahce.

The Portuguese manager’s comments led to a one-match suspension and a fine of 900,000 TL from the Turkish Football Federation (TFF), which cited unsportsmanlike behavior and actions detrimental to Turkish football’s reputation.

Muslera, a Galatasaray stalwart since 2011 with over 500 appearances, responded to Mourinho’s comments by emphasizing his pride in Turkish football and defending the integrity of the league and its officials.

“I feel compelled to speak out for the first time in 14 years,” Muslera said, highlighting his commitment to advancing Turkish football. He went on to suggest that Mourinho should leave if he doesn’t appreciate the Turkish football system.

Despite his suspension, Mourinho watched from the sidelines as Fenerbahce went on to secure a 4-0 victory over Sivasspor, leaving them second in the league standings, trailing Galatasaray by five points.

Mourinho also hinted at a potential return to the Premier League, stating his interest in managing a club in England that does not compete in UEFA competitions, further fueling speculation about his long-term future in Turkey.
