Osimhen, who joined the Turkish champions on loan from Napoli in September, has been a key player for Okan Buruk’s squad.
Reports suggest Galatasaray is eager to secure the Nigerian striker on a long-term basis at the end of the season.
However, Hamzaoğlu doubts this ambition is financially feasible. Speaking to Habersarikirmiz, he stated, “It’s difficult for Galatasaray to buy Victor Osimhen. In fact, I would say they cannot.
I’ve heard there are suitors for him, and while Galatasaray can stretch their budget to a certain extent, it might create problems beyond that.”
Hamzaoğlu stressed the importance of balancing the club’s financial health with its ambitions, suggesting that while Osimhen has made a significant impact, the costs of securing him permanently might be too high.
“Financial situations must be taken into account,” he added. “If he stays, there’s no doubt he will continue to be an asset to the team, but the club must consider its economic reality.”
For now, Galatasaray’s hopes of keeping Osimhen hinge on navigating these financial challenges while continuing to benefit from his performances this season.
