Rio Ferdinand has stated that while Alejandro Garnacho has no intention of leaving Manchester United, he may be forced out due to his style not aligning with Ruben Amorim’s tactical setup.
Despite being a product of the club’s academy, United are open to selling him as they face financial challenges.
Napoli previously had a bid for Garnacho rejected, with United holding out for £70 million, but the asking price has now dropped to around €65m (£54.8m), following interest from Chelsea.
Garnacho’s agents were recently spotted at Stamford Bridge, watching Chelsea’s 3-1 win over Wolves, with the Blues expected to make an offer soon.
Ferdinand believes Garnacho prefers staying at United and fighting for his place rather than forcing a move. He explained, “He wouldn’t be the one pushing for a move, but if United are listening to offers, he might start engaging with them.”

However, Ferdinand acknowledged that Garnacho’s style, especially his direct, off-the-ball runs, doesn’t fit with Amorim’s preference for wingers who play more centrally. This could lead to the club considering offers despite Garnacho’s considerable talent.
Amorim, on the other hand, chose not to comment on the speculation surrounding Garnacho’s future.

He praised the winger’s recent improvement, noting his versatility and work ethic during United’s Europa League win over Rangers.
Amorim emphasized his focus on the team’s performance, adding, “He’s improving in every aspect and understands what we’re trying to do. He has the potential to be even better.”
