The incident occurred ahead of the Europa League clash against PAOK, where United were looking to bounce back under interim manager Ruud van Nistelrooy, before the arrival of Ruben Amorim next week.
As Garnacho was signing autographs for young fans, a supporter took the opportunity to tell the 20-year-old, “You have to pass better today, please. Score a goal. And work on your first touch as well, yeah?”
Despite the unsolicited advice, Garnacho kept his composure, continued signing autographs, and then turned to the fan with a sharp response: “Why are you not playing, man?” The exchange, which was caught on camera, quickly went viral, earning praise from United fans and onlookers for Garnacho’s mature and unbothered reply.
On social media, supporters have criticized the fan for offering unhelpful and insulting commentary. “This isn’t useful or constructive. It’s insulting and unnecessary,” said one fan, while another pointed out, “Imagine having the audacity to speak to the players like this when being talentless yourself.”
Despite a challenging start to the Premier League season, where United sits 13th with only three wins in ten matches, Garnacho has been one of the standout performers, contributing six goals and four assists across all competitions.
His resilience and professionalism, both on and off the field, continue to earn him admiration from fans and teammates alike.
