Madueke, replaced by Mykhailo Mudryk in the 68th minute, went directly down the tunnel, missing the team’s celebration for Pedro Neto’s equalizing goal.

Hoddle, who was positioned just behind Chelsea’s bench, noted that several Chelsea players showed dissatisfaction over playing time, adding that it’s “not all hunky dory” on Chelsea’s side.

Since taking over from Mauricio Pochettino, Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has been working to keep his roster content, with many key players, including Joao Felix and Christopher Nkunku, struggling for Premier League minutes.

Hoddle remarked that balancing the squad’s morale is a difficult task, and players’ eagerness to participate is evident.

However, he acknowledged Maresca’s management of the squad, crediting the League Cup and Conference League opportunities for providing playing time to Chelsea’s depth players and helping maintain harmony within the squad.

Regarding Madueke’s reaction, Maresca commented that players are seldom pleased when substituted but expressed understanding of their desire to stay involved.

Maresca explained that the decision to bring on Mudryk was tactical, aiming to inject more aggressiveness against Arsenal’s Jurrien Timber.

Despite the challenges, Hoddle believes Chelsea has a promising future, with Maresca’s current handling of the roster showing positive signs.

The Chelsea manager’s approach, particularly through rotation in cup competitions, has temporarily eased tensions, though Hoddle warns that maintaining this balance will be crucial if Chelsea exits these tournaments.
