Pep Guardiola has clarified that he has not yet decided on his future with Manchester City amid speculation linking him to the England managerial position. His contract expires at the end of the season, and he has yet to reach a new agreement with the club.

As speculation swirls, including comments from goalkeeper Ederson suggesting a replacement has been lined up, Guardiola stated, “I have not taken a decision. When I do, I will inform you. My concern is only for Wolves.”

Guardiola acknowledged the impending departure of Txiki Begiristain, the club’s director of football, and the need for the club to prepare for his eventual exit. “If the club asks my opinion on my successor, I will give it, but it is ultimately the club’s decision,” he added.

While there were reports of England considering Guardiola as Gareth Southgate’s successor, those speculations ended when the FA appointed Thomas Tuchel earlier this week. Guardiola congratulated Tuchel but brushed off questions about any approaches made to him.

City heads into their match against Wolves this weekend but will likely be without Kevin De Bruyne and Nathan Ake, both of whom are recovering from injuries. “They’re not ready,” Guardiola confirmed. “Nathan trained with the team, so maybe he can travel, but he’s not ready to start.”
