Jamie Redknapp has shared Harry Kane’s glowing review of Bayern Munich’s Mathys Tel, who is reportedly close to making a move to Tottenham Hotspur.
Kane, who plays alongside the 19-year-old at Bayern, praised Tel’s potential, describing him as a “great guy” who’s eager to work and has excellent finishing skills.
Kane’s endorsement comes as Spurs reportedly agree to pay €60 million for Tel, despite strong interest from other top clubs like Manchester United and Chelsea.
While Redknapp acknowledged Tel’s talent, he raised concerns about the hefty price tag for such a young player, questioning whether the French forward will secure regular minutes at Tottenham under Ange Postecoglou’s system.
With established stars like Heung-Min Son and Dejan Kulusevski in the mix, Redknapp suggested that Tel may face competition for a starting spot.
Still, Tel’s arrival could be a timely boost for Spurs, especially as they navigate an injury crisis with multiple key players sidelined.
