Former Nigeria international Ifeanyi Udeze believes the Super Eagles will have little trouble progressing from their AFCON 2025 group after being drawn in Group C alongside Tunisia, Uganda, and Tanzania.

The draw, held in Rabat, Morocco, confirmed that Nigeria will play all their group-stage matches in Fez. They open their campaign against Tanzania on December 23, face Tunisia on December 27, and conclude the group phase against Uganda on December 30.

Speaking on Brila FM’s Sport Machine, Udeze described the group as manageable for the Super Eagles. “For me, it’s a walkover group. It’s not a difficult group for us,” he said.

“There are no more minnows in African football, but the Super Eagles should comfortably come out on top. All we need to do is take things one step at a time.”

The draw has also set up intriguing battles in other groups. Host nation Morocco is in Group A with Mali, Zambia, and Comoros. Group B features record seven-time winners Egypt, South Africa, Angola, and Zimbabwe.

Group D includes Senegal, DR Congo, Benin Republic, and Botswana, while Group E pits Algeria against Burkina Faso, Equatorial Guinea, and Sudan. Group F promises excitement with defending champions Côte d’Ivoire drawn alongside Cameroon, Gabon, and Mozambique.

With three AFCON titles in their history, the Super Eagles aim to secure a fourth in Morocco, entering the tournament with confidence and high expectations.
