Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe has hinted at potential absences for Alexander Isak and Anthony Gordon as they recover from “niggling injuries” ahead of Saturday’s match against Arsenal.

Isak, who recently scored in back-to-back games, has been dealing with a toe issue, while Gordon is managing a groin injury. Howe is cautious about pushing players too hard, as both players featured in two games against Chelsea over the past week, a 2-1 league loss and a 2-0 Carabao Cup win.
Howe stressed the physical toll of a packed schedule, noting, “It will be a tough ask physically for someone to play all three games in six days.” With other players like Lewis Hall, Fabian Schar, Sandro Tonali, and Joelinton also logging heavy minutes, Howe may need to rotate his squad.
Callum Wilson, however, is confirmed to be out as he continues to recover from a back injury, with Howe opting to extend his rehabilitation until after the November international break.
