Reports suggest that two Premier League clubs, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United, are closely monitoring Manchester City’s Jack Grealish amid speculation of a possible transfer.

Since his record-breaking £100m move from Aston Villa in 2021, Grealish has achieved significant team success, including three Premier League titles and a Champions League trophy. However, his individual performances have been underwhelming.
The 29-year-old has managed just 14 goals in 143 appearances and has not scored since December 2023 in a 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace.
Grealish’s drop in form has also impacted his international career. He was left out of England’s squad for last summer’s Euros and has continued to be overlooked for recent Nations League games.
Despite Pep Guardiola’s assurance that no players will leave during the January transfer window due to City’s injury woes, the Daily Mail reports that Tottenham and Newcastle are weighing up potential bids.
Newcastle, currently fifth in the Premier League after four consecutive wins, are pushing for European qualification under Eddie Howe. In contrast, Tottenham struggles under Ange Postecoglou, sitting 11th and closer to relegation than a top-four spot.
Former players have urged Grealish to consider leaving Manchester City to reignite his passion for the game. Lee Hendrie, an ex-Aston Villa star, believes Grealish’s move to City has been successful but feels a change is necessary.
Hendrie even suggested a potential return to Villa, though he admitted financial and logistical challenges could complicate such a deal.
Shay Given, a former Premier League goalkeeper, echoed these sentiments, criticizing City’s use of Grealish on the left wing. “He’s like a mannequin at times, stuck out of position. He’s a generational talent being wasted,” Given told BBC’s Football Daily.
City’s current struggles, with the team sitting sixth and trailing league leaders Liverpool by 14 points, have magnified individual shortcomings. While they ended a four-game winless streak with a victory over Leicester City, City face West Ham next in what promises to be another challenging encounter.
For now, the future remains uncertain for Grealish, with January poised to be a pivotal month in his career.
Absolutely guarentee neither of these sides want him. Been dross for 3 years, breaks both teams wage structure and has a better player ahead of him at LW in Gordon at Newcastle and the captain Son at Spurs
He is 29, what if he burn out as 30/32??? Look already Son seems weaker than before:( Waist of money!
