The 20-year-old striker has been pivotal in Villa’s campaign, despite primarily serving as a backup to Ollie Watkins.

With just four starts this season, Duran has tallied an impressive 10 goals, including a crucial strike in Villa’s recent Champions League victory over RB Leipzig.

This comes amidst a summer of transfer rumors, with West Ham reportedly offering £30 million plus Lewis Orford for the Colombian forward.

Arsenal also emerged as a potential suitor, with reports from Colombia in October claiming the Gunners approached Villa about a winter bid for Duran, who previously played for Chicago Fire.

However, Aston Villa has no plans to sell the rising star. The club has set a £75 million price tag on Duran and recently extended his contract until 2030.

Speaking after Villa’s 3-2 victory over RB Leipzig, Duran said, “I’m happy here. I enjoy competing with Ollie Watkins. When my chance comes, I aim to score and help the team.”

Duran also expressed pride in Villa’s progress toward the Champions League knockout stages, emphasizing teamwork as the key to their success.

“Our hard work paid off with three points away from home. We’re delighted with our current standings and focused on winning the next match,” he added.

Villa’s sporting director, Monchi, revealed the scale of interest in Duran over the summer, stating that up to 40 clubs considered signing him.

“We have two excellent strikers in Duran and Watkins,” Monchi told Sky Italia. “Although some offers came in, they didn’t meet our valuation, and we were convinced to keep him. Emery has great faith in Duran.”

With Duran’s performances capturing attention, Villa appears resolute in holding onto one of their brightest talents.
