Joao Felix’s Chelsea struggles are now behind him as he enjoys a strong start at AC Milan. The Portuguese forward, who joined the Blues permanently from Atletico Madrid last summer, failed to make an impact at Stamford Bridge, managing just one Premier League goal in 12 appearances. However, his cup performances were more promising, with six goals across domestic and European competitions.
Frustrated by limited opportunities under Enzo Maresca, Felix actively pushed for a move in January, securing a loan deal with Milan.

The decision has paid off immediately—he scored on his debut in a 3-1 Coppa Italia win over Roma and played a key role in Milan’s 2-0 victory over Empoli in Serie A.
The 25-year-old has credited Milan legend Kaka as a major influence on his playing style and expressed his enthusiasm for working under manager Sergio Conceição.
“I pushed hard to come here. I want to give my all for this club. Kaka has always been my idol—I saw myself in him and tried to imitate him.”

Meanwhile, Chelsea’s attacking depth has been tested since Felix’s departure, with injuries to Nicolas Jackson and Marc Guiu. However, Maresca remains confident in his decision.
“I don’t think we miss Joao. He is happy there, and we are happy for him.”
With Felix flourishing in Serie A, Chelsea may come to regret letting him go, especially as they struggle for consistency in the Premier League.
