Despite struggling to make an impact since joining the Italian giants from Villarreal last summer, Peseiro believes the talented winger’s best is yet to come.
Chukwueze has found it difficult to replicate his previous form, managing just six goals and four assists in 56 appearances across all competitions for Milan.
However, Peseiro, who coached Chukwueze during his tenure with the Nigerian national team, remains optimistic about the player’s potential.
“Chukwueze is an excellent player, full of quality and potential,” Peseiro said during an interview with Sportitalia.
“I trained him with the Nigerian national team, and I know his capabilities. Paulo Fonseca is the right manager to help him grow and reach the next level.”
Peseiro also praised Rafael Leão, Milan’s star forward, emphasizing Fonseca’s ability to elevate both players’ performances.
“Rafael Leão and Chukwueze are extraordinary talents. Leão is someone I wish I had coached at Sporting.
With Fonseca’s guidance, I believe both players will continue to improve and reach their full potential,” Peseiro added.
Chukwueze’s adaptation to Serie A remains a work in progress, but with Fonseca’s support and Peseiro’s faith in his abilities, Milan fans can remain hopeful that the Nigerian winger will soon find his rhythm and make a significant impact.
